Smilow Cancer Hospital LINAC Equipment Installation

Petra successfully completed the installation of a new linear accelerator (LINAC) at Smilow Cancer Hospital, part of Yale Cancer Center. The project included demolition, concrete pit reconstruction, MEP upgrades, and interior finish enhancements. Working under strict infection control protocols and off-hours scheduling, Petra overcame complex challenges such as precise radiation equipment alignment, design adjustments, and infrastructure coordination within dense concrete shielding. Despite these hurdles, the team finished ahead of schedule in just five months, also preparing for future CT and C-RAD system installations. The result: a fully functional, regulation-compliant LINAC treatment room supporting advanced cancer care delivery.
