Yale New Haven Shoreline Medical Center, Ambulatory Surgery and Endoscopy Unit

The surgery center on the first floor of the hospital’s off-site ambulatory center was renovated to allow for departmental separation between the ambulatory surgery and endoscopy recovery rooms. The renovation and relocation of 4,100 square feet of space included endoscopy procedure rooms, exam and pre-procedure rooms, recovery spaces, nurse stations, clinical support areas, offices, and locker and storage rooms. Due to its proximity to another still-active endoscopy suite and operating room, the construction space was carefully segregated from the active treatment spaces and completed in three phases. The work required ongoing dust control and Type D, Class 4 infection control.
