At Petra Construction Corporation our commitment to safety is a key part of our business. We have developed a comprehensive safety program and we work diligently to ensure that our jobsites are safe working environments. Each new employee meets with our full-time Safety Director to learn our safety policies before reporting to his first job site. Weekly "Tool Box Talks" and quarterly company wide safety meetings keep all of Petra's employees well informed on the latest safety systems and techniques.
Our Safety Director also presents in-house seminars for our Supervisors. A few selected topics include, Fire Protection, Scaffolding Safety, Fall Protection and Working in Confined Spaces. All of our Superintendents and Foremen receive the OSHA Construction Safety course, are trained in First Aid and CPR, and are certified by the National Safety Council.
This comprehensive approach has earned numerous safety awards for our firm from the Connecticut Construction Industries Association, the Associated Builders and Contractors, and a number of other industry organizations.
